Welcome to the Davis/Redmond family business. Hot Ladies Designs started out as a simple way for my wife, Deb and my mother, Dottie to bond by sewing projects they loved and has grown to the point of needing an online store. Everything we have for sale is a one-of-a-kind piece that is sure to make a statement. We can also custom design pieces based upon the color you would like to have. I hope you like what you see and we will continue to add more items each week.
HISTORY:
It was January 2010 and we were living in Monroe, LA where my corporate office was. My parents came down to visit and then were heading off to thier normal stay in Daytona Beach, FL. Deb's parents just arrived back in Wayne, NJ from their yearly stay in Delray, FL. I was notified at work that we were purchased by a new company and that there were going to be some major changes. It was then that I decided we needed to move and be closer to more job opportunities and that FL would be the best place.
In February 2010, Deb's mom had a stroke and it took Deb 18 hours until she was able to get to see her mother. This was a tough time for all of us, but we all came out of it ok. That was when we made sure wherever we went that there was several flight opportunities for Deb to get back to NJ quick if anything ever happened again.
In July 2010 we made the move a reality and ended up in Port St. Lucie, FL. This was only 2 hrs. to Daytona and 1.5 hrs. to Delray, which made it great for us to see both parents. In August, my parents came down to live with us until they found a place to make home in Daytona and just as they left in October, Deb's parents arrived.
In December 2010, Deb's mother had her 2nd stroke damaging the other side of her brain. The good news was that they were living with us, so we were there to help the entire time. After several months of rehab and discussions, her parents decided to sell their house in NJ and move here with us.
In the summer of 2011, they sold their house and ended up finding a new one only 6 min away from us. Shortly after, my parents decided to move back in with us to be here to take care of our son in the event I am traveling and something would happen to Deb's mom again.
It has been great having both sets of parents so close and now that closeness has helped to formulate a business that will help us through any other unforseen emergencies.
